LANGUAGE and WRITING
Chinese people use oracle bones; which are sometimes called dragon bones and sometimes they even use tortoise shells to write down their symbols that each represents specific words or in some cases, sentences. A Chinese character is composd of pictographic, ideographic, and phonetic elements. Most of the people in China that use oracle bones are priests and kings/emperors. They would ask a question to their priest and they carve it in the oracle bone. After that, the priest would heat the bronze pin, and hold the hot pin to the piece of bone. Then, come the interesting part, the heat causes cracks and the priest, who is usually a woman, would try to figure out what the cracks mean, and that was the answer from their god. The pictographs are also use to record important information, such as governmental documents.
